Grandmother’s Flower Garden Quilt – Progress #12

Progress #11

Tulip

The leaves and stems have already been appliqued onto the block.  It is really easy to see where to place each tulip, when using the light-box. There is some over lap on each tulip. This means 3 more trips to the light-box.  ;0)

The tulip flowers are layered one on top of the other. The column suggested a range of colors: deep red, yellow, orange, deep red, lavender, purple, striped pink & white. Nancy recommended that each flower be in a different color. I took that approach, staying in the same color family with different hues: red, med pink, & light pink. With the red flower being in the back, it was placed first.

This is the time I usually start second guessing my color choices, but I am not going to do it over.

We only have one more block, the zinnia, to complete the flower blocks for this quilt.
