Sara’s Sourdough Bread

Delicious & simple bread recipe

Ingredients

  • 2.5 to 3 cups of sourdough starter

  • 2.5 cups bread flour

  • One Tablespoon salt

Directions

  • Mix ingredients together
  • Knead until lively
  • Form into a loaf (or a round)
  • line a pan with parchment paper, placing bread dough on it
  • cut cross-hatches over the top
  • let rise until doubled (seven hours to overnight at 65 degrees Fahrenheit; less time at higher temperatures)
  • Bake at 430 degrees F. for 20-25 minutes, or until the loaf sounds hollow when knocked on with a knuckle.
  • Turn out immediately onto a dry breadboard and remove the parchment paper
  • Remember to feed the original starter
