The post details the final touches on a dress from a 1930s pattern. The author adjusted the hem to a more modern length and modified the collar for better movement. Three snaps were added to adjust the neckline. The dress is now finished, marking the completion of one of three summer dresses planned.
Lemon Dress
On May 4th, I began making summer dresses from cotton fabrics, starting with a lemon print fabric. I faced challenges cutting the sleeves and collar due to fabric direction. With 45 years of sewing experience, I learned new techniques and corrected mistakes, including attaching the collar. I encountered issues with gathering the sleeves and making ties. Despite these challenges, I managed to complete the dress, but noted that the collar and revers made the top of the dress appear stiff, which was not my intention for a comfortable cotton house dress.
