Block No. 16 of the Modernistic Flower Quilt features the California Poppy, a different variety from the previous red oriental poppy. The repetition is justified by the poppy's association with sleep. The orange blossom and stems are to be stitched in yellow, while the leaves and other elements are to be green and orange.

Block No. 15 - The Poinsettia features the flower's vibrant vermilion petals, yellow center, and green stem and leaves in a modernistic quilt.
