Catching up
I wouldn’t let myself start writing another post, of any kind, until I had finally finished the trip reports. Today I finished the last of those reports! Whoop-whoop!!
I have been working on projects during the 40 hour work week. I also work on them during the weekend teaching gig. Social events and my online college classes occupy time as well. I haven’t gotten very far on any one project, but some progress has been made.
Halloween Skirt

This project was one that I had started last year.ย I had cut out all the pattern pieces. I just never got around to sewing it together.ย With Daughter-in-law’s birthday fast approaching, I decided to finish it and give it to her as her gift.ย I finished it in time, only one year behind schedule!ย ๐
Run Oregon- Fun Run

Perhaps not a workbasket project, but this is something that has kept me busy.ย This was the 3rd 1K run that I did with my grand-babies this year.ย The second one that my sister and her grand-babies joined us.ย Even my Son got in on the fun for this run!
Velvet Basket Weave Baby Blanket

This knitted baby blanket is coming along nicely. I am a little over halfway through the second ball of yarn. There is still one more to go until the knitting is finished.ย The yarn is called “velvet” and that is what it feels like too.ย I am close to finishing the 9th repeat.ย I don’t have a plan for the number of repeats. I am just going to knit with the 3 balls of yarn. When the yarn is gone, I will be done with the knitting.
Purple Cable Knit Sweater

I have started this sweater the required 4 times that I usually do.ย (sigh) I look forward to making some knitting progress.ย My plan is to have it done for Christmasย (she says with crossed fingers).
Hankie – “W”

Slowly but surely, I have been making relatively steady progress on the latest hankie. I need to have it finished for the end of November.ย Then I need to start the next one, which is also the last one for this year.
What Else?
The T-shirt quilt that I have been working on (off and on) was too big for my quilt frame. After I finally figured out how to make the machine quilting do it’s thing… I had to take the quilt back off the frame. Then, I had to remove all the stitching. The bobbin threads were horribly loose, looping out in rats’ nests. Because the quilt is so big, I decided to approach this project a little differently. I decided to tie the “quilt sandwich” together before doing the actual quilting. I have managed to finish all the ties and that is where I have stalled, so far. So many things keep getting in the way of my project time
Don’t even ask me about my mending pile…
