Workroom #109 ~ Aprons & Bread

This post was begun way back in February, and then apparently forgotten. It is a good thing too, because there was more to the story that hadn’t happened until this last past weekend. This is the story of Aprons & bread.

Aprons

In a previous post, I introduced the “left over apron“. I had made it for my grand-daughter. It was WAY TOO BIG. I made a decision to take it apart and make it fit her better. There ended up being enough to make two separate aprons, one for her house and one for my house. I delivered her apron to her and that was that… until Easter weekend. She was over, with her family, to have dinner when the apron for my house caught her eye. As if a scene right out of Lord of the Rings, in the character of Smeagle yearning after his precious, she proclaimed “YOU. TOOK. IT!” There was so much disdain in her little voice. She was better after I reminded her that there was 2, one for her house and one for mine. It was very funny… at least to me.

Bread

For my birthday this year, I was given a set of Banneton proofing baskets. They are for the raising of sourdough bread dough. Pantry Mama has an excellent blog article about them. This was my first loaf made using one. I’m excited to continue to get better with them! What do you think?
