Spinning
With all the fiber that I have, spinning is always a W.I.P. I have been making progress, but it is harder to notice when it is still just single ply on the same bobbin. You’d have to see a picture of the bobbin from before next to a picture of it from now. You’d be able to see the color change (if the fiber has been dyed in a way for obvious color changes). So, this week I decided to weigh the remaining fiber to see how much I have actually already spun. With 2.3oz left from a 4oz braid, I can now tell that I have successfully spun 1.7oz of the fiber into a nice single-ply yarn. 🙂
Produce Bag
After last week, I took a picture with a measuring tape to be able to tell how much progress was made during this past week. Then It wasn’t needed so much because I made it to the end of the mesh pattern and started the 2×2 rib. Also, you may have noticed a color change. I ran out of the rainbow colorway. I have the handles to noodle-out and sew up the bottom. That’s it and this bag will be finished!
Picnic Basket
I shared this project in my last workroom post. the handle was saggy and I wasn’t pleased with the whole basket at all. It probably will not surprise anyone that I took it apart and re-did it. The second time, I did not follow the instructions as written and I am so much more happy with the final product. I also took apart the handle and used a much stiffer interfacing.
With the strawberries and the watermelon slices stuffed and hand-stitched closed, they are complete.
These flat sandwich fix’ns have us with 2 lettuce and tomato sandwiches. Below the rest of the picnic ingredients await their turn for completion.
The froggy couple are also awaiting their turn… (pun intended)
