Grandmother’s Flower Garden Quilt Update #18 – Final Border

The final border for Nancy Page's Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilt was a simple 10-inch white border, making it large enough for a king-sized bed with a nice "fall". After attaching the side strips, the upper and lower borders completed the quilt top. The quilting will have to wait until the second story on the garage is finished.

Summary: In March 2022, I rediscovered my project wish list and was pleased to find significant progress. I'm almost done sewing Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilt top and have made considerable headway on the knit denim shawl. Out of 7 projects, completing 2 isn't bad.

Grandmother’s Flower Garden Quilt – Progress #12

In Progress #11, the tulip block is taking shape with leaves and stems already appliqued. Using a light-box makes it easier to place each tulip, but more trips are needed for each layer. The tulip flowers are layered in different colors as recommended by Nancy. Only the zinnia block remains to complete the flower blocks for the quilt.
