Spinning
In the last post the remaining un-spun fiber had a weight of 2.3oz. This week we are down to 1.9oz. Getting close to finishing up the spinning of the singles. I am really looking forward to plying this into a 2-ply yarn. While watching a YouTube video on how to spin with a support spindle, I learned something new about drafting while spinning. I am excited to try this little tweak to my technique.
Produce Bag
Here she is in all her glory! A knit produce bag. I am super please with how she turned out. I have made a couple of half-hearted attempt to start another one but nothing yet
Picnic Basket
Granddaughter discovered the picnic basket and loves it! She has made many veggie sandwiches for any and all family members nearby. She will be excited to learn that she now has “bologna” & “cheese” with which to make sandwiches. In addition to have finished more fixin’s for sandwich, I also finished up the “hand-chicken”. The picnic panel came with two drumsticks. In our family drumsticks have been called “hand-chicken” since my son was about 4 years old. He wanted me to get the kind of chicken that you hold with your hand when you eat it… thus “hand-chicken”.
Oh, and I did forget to show you the cute little “milk” cartons that I finished up a few weeks ago. When I handed them to G.daughter, she said “oh, milk”. None of us could figure out how she knew that they were supposed to be milk. I guess we will never know.
Froggy Couple
The froggy couple were on the same fabric panel as the picnic basket. They are a cute couple and come with outfits. I was able to trim and clip seams and turn them right side out.
Beatrix Potter
There have been multiple panel projects lately. These cute bunnies are another of them. I have always liked Beatrix Potter (I decorated my son’s nursery with Peter Rabbit theme). Beatrix Potter would have been totally cool with themed toys, as she had a Peter Rabbit toys made to be marketed along with her books. With all that in mind, I snatched up the bunny panel and some additional fabric from the same grouping. There will be a coordinating wall hanging… soon.
Lavender Wands
FOR YEARS… I have wanted to make lavender wands. For about 30 years, to be truthful. I don’t know why I waited so long. Fast forward to now, with lavender in the front yard and YouTube videos, I made some! I wasn’t able to make very many because this is only the 2nd year for my lavender. But I am pretty chuffed with myself. And they smell FANTASTIC!

Thank you. I don’t have plans for it yet. I absolutely love this colorway and the fiber is wonderful to spin. DO IT!! We all love seeing the amazing things you make. Toys are fun in the making and giving. 😉
