Summer Romper

G.daughter’s 3rd birthday is quickly approaching and I wanted to make her some easy summer clothes. Therfore I purchased this pattern from Etsy seller APatternShack. Easy was putting it mildly! There are only 2 pattern pieces to make this cute little romper set. I made 2 pair of bloomers that could be worn as matching or co-coordinating and the top is reversable. I’m super pleased with how it turned out and plan on making more. The blue fabric is from the brand “American Made”. The print fabric is from Windom, Storybook grouping #22, in the red colorway. I purchased both of these fabrics from Grandma’s Attic.

A’s Quilt

Several weeks ago I posted the making of the rest of G.daughter’s letter blocks. This is the final letter block for the back of her quilt – having had to wait for the purchase of more yellow fabric. The initial (LOL… get it?) yellow fabric being left over from the finishing kits for the Red & Purple quilts. (which, apparently, I have yet to take a picture of the finished quilt tops) :-/
Back to the yellow fabric. I had enough left over to make all of the letters except for one piece of the “S”. I made the top and the bottom of the “S” and only needed enough to make the center part, saving the largest yellow scrap to take with me to match.
When I went to Grandma’s Attic for quilt club last month I took the scrap with me. The fabric had come from the American Made fabric line, but when I tried matching it with what was in stock I was able to get close but not a perfect match. I inquired with Leah about it and she checked the back room. She, indeed, did have the perfect match! The difference was in the dye lots! Because she went above and beyond, I was able to finish the last little bit of this letter with perfectly matched fabric.
Now, I need to get busy and finish the blocks for the quilt top! We ARE over 1/2 way to Christmas you know…
